Greetings from AGW World HQ!
Recently I was honored to be inducted into the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame. I was unable to attend the awards at the Merle Travis Music Center in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, so my dear friend Micah Yandell accepted on my behalf.
Here's a link to the presentation. In the video, I'm playing My Friend Paul (from The View From Here) on my Gretsch 6122-1959 Country Gentleman. The guitar is equipped with a prototype Duo-Tron neck pickup, made and given to me by Paul Yandell himself.
Micah sent me a closeup of the award.
Thanks so much to Joe Hudson and everyone at the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame. As Micah read in my acceptance, "As long as I'm alive and pickin', I'll keep trying to lay that thumb in there!"
